A third party buys these mattresses and “cleans” them up, and then sells them to retailers that buy them so they can promote the 80% off name brand mattresses. Within the trade, these mattresses are known as, “Throwbacks”. Essentially, used mattresses. If you see such a sale, ask... “Are these mattresses throwbacks? Are they used?
