Yes, indeed. All that know me, know I show up and work at the store 7 days a week; actually 359 days a year. And, if I don’t get my sleep I don’t function. One thing I do is, I take a shower every night before hitting the sack. It relaxes the body. And, I hit the sack as soon as I dry off. As my body cools down it helps induce sleep. I believe if you take a shower before going to bed, you will sleep better.
Futons continue to be very popular for those who take a good look at them. The key is to get a good frame and, most importantly, a good futon cushion (mattress).
Our best selling futon mattress is an innerspring design. Yes, a futon cushion with springs inside. Durable and long lasting and comfortable.
A good frame is made from solid wood; no metal deck.
Pick a cover and get your desired look and you can always change the look by changing the cover.
Excellent choice for rental properties too.
As many of you know, I am a BIG promoter of two sided mattresses; mattresses you can flip over since both sides are padded the same. All the heavily advertised brands are single sided. You can not flip over since only one side of the mattress is padded. This is done for a reason. First, the cost of making the mattress is reduced since only one sided is padded. Second, the mattress will wear out quicker.
Common sense: a two sided mattress will last longer. The big brands simply do not want mattresses to last as long as mattresses lasted 'Back In The Day". Do you see the big brands and big retailers promoting that you should replace your mattress every eight years? What's up with that?
Oh, and the so called 'mattress experts"? Many, when asked for a two sided mattress, will look you straight in the face and say, "Nobody makes two sided mattresses anymore. Our one sided mattresses are built so well, you never have to flip them."
Tell 'Em Flanagan has ten two sided mattress sets on the floor. And, they are all:
Built To Last... Not Built To Last Only Eight Years...
An important point to remember when shopping latex mattresses is the amount of latex in the mattress. Many retailers will list a mattress as "Latex" if the mattress only has 1" of latex on top of a foam core. A mattress like this is not what I would list as a latex mattress. Always ask, "How much latex is in this mattress."
The big name brand mattresses? All single sided. Why? Cheaper to make and will wear out quicker. Good for the factory. Flanagan Mattress has several two sided mattresses which can be flipped. Longer life. And, the price? In many cases less than that one sided name brand. Stop by and see. You be the judge.
In my opinion, all natural latex pillows are the best for comfort and especially long term wear and tear. I have been using for twenty years so I know first hand.
Like clockwork on Holiday weekends, the big mattress retailers throw the "1/2 off all mattresses" sale bait into the water to try and lure you in for fake savings. Don't bite the bait.
